Both of these programs offer excellent models of what is possible with restorative justice practices. We hope you watch them and use them in your community. For a list of honorable mention winners please download the list here.
The criteria for the film selection was:
- Original Film/Video that promotes and educates about restorative justice practices
- Creators credited in film and contact information provided as a part of submission
- Values and principles of restorative justice practices are clearly indicated in the film/video
- Selection committee will consider creativity, artful lens, storyline, emotional impact, value to furthering restorative justice practices
- Made and/or released within the last 5 years (films/videos not yet released are eligible.)
- Trailers may be submitted but will not be considered for the prize
- Length can run up to 90 minutes for this event
- Two Categories of winners will be selected
- Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as an original motion picture that has running time of 40 minutes or less including all credits.
- Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a full length feature film as an original motion picture that has running time of over 40 minutes including all credits.
