Hello, I was referred to your program by Julie Carr, who I’m involved with Mom’s Demand Action with. I’m a community member, graduate student and D-11 substitute teacher who was trained over 20 years ago as a restorative justice facilitator to first time juvenile offenders in Virginia. Unfortunately, the program was cancelled soon and I haven’t been able to find other restorative justice facilitator volunteer opportunities. About 30 years ago, I co-facilitated conflict resolution 3 day intense conferences to inmates in Washington state prisons with the Alternatives to Violence project (AVP). I’d love to become involved with restorative justice and wondered if there is ever training, workshops, circles, events in the prisons, community or schools that is sliding scale or I could barter as a volunteer? I’d just LOVE to get back in w restorative justice. In my graduate program, I’m hoping to do a proposal on alternatives to incarceration. I look forward to hearing from you. I live in Colorado Springs. Kind regards, Vicki Taylor-McNally 703-869-7300 Sent from my iPhone
